The COVID-19 pandemic has created a daily dive into a new vocabulary for example: lockdown, shelter-in-place, PPE, social distancing, ventilators, flattening the curve, toilet paper shortage, Tiger King, the new normal and essential workers.
The 911 tragedy woke us up to how heroic firefighters, first responders and police officers are.  We remember the phrase, “As others were running out of the buildings to safety, fire firefighters were running into the buildings to save the lives of others.”
This pandemic has taught us how valuable “essential workers” are to all of us.  Those who have never been considered heroic but are:  truck drivers, delivery services, cashiers, grocery story workers, fulfillment employees…those who get the job done at a risk of jeopardizing their own health for us.
Plus, we have always respected health care providers but we now have a new level of respect and appreciation for how heroic they truly are.
When we come out of the other side of this tunnel, which we will, I hope we continue to let others know – especially our “everyday heroes” that who they are and what they do matters so much to the rest of us.

“Nice Bike” is about acknowledging, honoring and connecting with others in a meaningful way.  Let’s go out of our way to “Nice Bike” the heroes we all meet every day.
